Red Dead Online Beta Update Adds Fishing Challenges and More

If you're looking for more things to do in Red Dead Redemption 2's Online Beta, Rockstar has added a new Fishing Challenge into the free roam event rotation, where you'll compete against other players to catch the highest combined weight of fish. There will be three different variations to the Fishing Challenge based on the body of water types: lakes, rivers and streams.

In addition to the new Fishing Challenge, Rockstar has also revealed details of the latest limited-time clothing items that are available from the Wheeler, Rawson & Co catalogue, which include the Gator Hat, Ortega Vest, Pelt Half Chaps, and Woodland Gloves.

Details of this week's bonuses for Red Dead Online have also been announced, with Rockstar dishing out a 30% XP boost on hunting animals, and a Fishing Care Package that includes 5x Live Crickets, 1x River Lure, 1x Lake Lure and 1x Swamp Lure.

  • Today - Free Roam Event: Fishing Challenge
  • March 26 - Target Races and additional PS4 early access content: Open Target Races
  • April 2 - Showdown Mode: Up In Smoke
  • April 9 - Showdown Mode: Plunder
