If you were left wanting more after finishing off the Hyper Light Drifter achievements list, you might be excited to learn that the game is getting a television adaptation, from the producer behind Netflix's Castlevania.
Exclusively revealed to Polygon at their SXSW panel, the smash hit indie game's creator Alx Preston is working with Adi Shankar, the brains behind the Castlevania animated series. This marks the fourth video game project Shankar has in the works, with a Devil May Cry and an Assassin's Creed television project on the horizon along with further Castlevania episodes.
The project is very much in the early stages, with Preston and Shankar currently seeking writers for the series. The art style will likely be similar to that found in the game, which itself was inspired by the animation of Studio Ghibli. Preston is still working through how the game's unique narrative would translate to the television medium, and is even wondering if the series will have any dialogue.
Preston and Shankar couldn't reveal any more details at this stage, except to say that they are "going to make it cool". That seems like a pretty good foundation to start from.
