After weeks, nee months, of speculation, IO Interactive has shed some light on the next installment in the Hitman franchise. The following teaser trailer doesn't show much, but, much like the ladies of the Elizabethan era, teasing a little ankle goes a long way.
IO Interactive has also confirmed that Agent 47's next game will be titled Hitman: Absolution
as was speculated a few weeks ago in trademark applications.
Game Director Tore Blystad teases at the plot of Hitman: Absolution
with the following:
For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the Hitman fantasy. This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman games; something our silent assassins will relish, as will all those new to the Hitman world.
Finally, the game is being "built from the ground-up" on a whole new engine (Glacier 2) and will feature “distinctive art direction and highly original game design.”
In a theme that gamers can expect to hear often in the coming weeks: Expect to see more of Hitman: Absolution
at next month's E3 conference.
