Gearbox Community Day Announced

By Jonathan Barnes, 7 years ago
Last week, we brought you the story of Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford doing a public Q&A in London about Duke Nukem Forever. Many American community members were upset at this lack of opportunity. Community Member, Beachem might have said it best with:

Oh of the men I respect the most in the gaming industry. I [expletive deleted] love Gearbox. Would love to meet Randy Pitchford and ask him a ton of questions. Sucks it is only in the UK
Well, Beachem, Gearbox has heard your plea and acquiesced to your request! In a tweet issued a few minutes ago, @GearboxSoftware announced the first-ever Gearbox Community Day in Dallas, Texas on June 11th from 10AM-6PM.

Gearbox is promoting the event by telling gamers:

This will be your chance to play Duke Nukem Forever alongside the Gearbox crew before the game is released in North America. You'll get to hear the stories and meet the people behind some of Gearbox's biggest games, including Borderlands, Brothers in Arms, Aliens: Colonial Marines and more!
The best news, however, is that the event is FREE! To attend simply sign up for the event using the external link.

Duke Nukem Forever will be released internationally on June 10th with a North American release a few days later on June 14th.

Important: You must have a release form with you when signing in at the Gearbox Community Day. Please download that form, print it and sign it, and bring it with you to the event.

Government-issued identification required for entry. Anyone attending must present a release form. Those under the age of 17 must have a release form signed by a parent or legal guardian. Must be 21 or older to attend party.
