Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Patch Brings Back Blackout Duos

By Rebecca Smith, 9 days ago
Seeing as Xbox One players are a week behind PlayStation 4 players, this means this week's Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 patch has introduced the new Alcatraz Blackout map for players to try out. In amongst the rest of the gameplay additions and bug fixes, Treyarch also reintroduced Blackout Duos and added Skill Divisions to League Play.

Alcatraz is a more compact Blackout map that is available for all players to try out, including those currently playing through the free play trial. You can find more details here and some tips and tricks here. In addition, Blackout Duos returns to the game today. Treyarch hasn't clarified if the mode will be returning permanently or if the mode will only be a temporary addition.

Skill Divisions have been added to the World League Hub. These represent a player's skill level based on their performance compared to the general gaming population, and players will be placed based on their current skill rating. Half of the population will be placed in the Competitor Division, with only the elite 2% of players making it into the Master Division. The Divisions are in addition to the current progressive rank system.

We also got a brief look at a feature coming to Xbox One next week. Infected is a new Party Game that pits a team of Survivors against a single patient zero. Survivors will win by surviving until the timer runs out. The Infected have to grow their horde by spreading the disease amongst the survivors, and the Infected will have a full zombie character model and sound effects.

You can see a full list of gameplay improvements and bug fixes in the patch notes. The update is available now, aside from Infected, which will arrive on April 16th.
