Not too long ago, FromSoftware — led by Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki — released Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to critical acclaim and if you follow gaming on the internet, it may have felt like it's all that everyone on Earth has been playing and talking about since. Thanks to Activision however, we now have some idea how much the game has actually sold. It seems the difficulty of Sekiro has not been all that off-putting to potential players as Activision have revealed the game sold two million copies in the first ten days.
For their part, Activision certainly seem happy with the game's reception and sales, with the publisher's Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, Michelle Fonseca, having this to say about the news:
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has brought something very special and unique to Activision’s portfolio of games. It’s been an honor to work with FromSoftware to help introduce a brand-new franchise to gamers around the world. The fans have made Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice one of the most incredible game launches of 2019 thus far. The game has performed well on all platforms including PC and we’re excited by the continued support from gamers and critics alike. It has been gratifying to see the enjoyment from fans when they overcome each challenge. All in all, a strong performance from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a game that defies most trends set by other popular titles. Perhaps we can expect to see a hypothetical "Shadows Die Thrice" in the future?
