Frostpunk Is Coming To Consoles This Summer

By James Kearle, 7 days ago
Until now, Frostpunk has only been available on Windows and as is often the case with city simulators, console gamers have been left in the dark. However, 11 Bit Studios recently confirmed that their visceral city-building survival game will now be coming to consoles, with the below launch trailer confirming that Frostpunk will arrive on the Xbox One this summer.

For the unacquainted, Frostpunk provides a twist on the traditional city-builder genre. The game takes place in an alternate 1886, where the eruptions of Krakatoa and Mount Tambora has left the world in a perpetual volcanic winter. With its heavy focus on narrative and strategic challenges, players must overcome the frozen post-apocalypse by preparing the last civilized society on earth for a new life within this cold, unforgiving world.

The console release will feature any and all previous updates from the Windows version, including "The Fall of Winterhome" expansion, as well as all future content updates. Players can also expect to find additional customization options, difficulty settings, and balance tweaks. 11 bit studios stated in their press release that they are "close to the finish line" with the port, taking "great efforts" in re-configuring Frostpunk to ensure all its mechanics run smoothly on consoles.
