Apex Legends Battle Pass XP Event Begins Today

By Rebecca Smith, 3 days ago
The Apex Legends Battle Pass tasks players with working their way through many levels on the way to unlocking over 100 rewards. If you're in need of a bit of a helping hand with this, you may be interested to hear about the Battle Pass XP event that's running right now. The event began with the introduction of patch 1.1.1, which has also brought along some legend balancing, weapon balancing, and a couple of other fixes.

The Battle Pass XP event runs until approximately 10AM PST on April 18th. From now until that time, players will get 1 full bonus Battle Pass Level (29,500 BPP) for their first Top 5 of the day. The bonus can be earned up to a maximum level of 110 but can only be earned once per day. Respawn promises they'll also be adding more Battle Pass XP bonuses throughout the season, so this won't be a one-off event.

At the start of Season 1, Respawn had found players were having problems with the hitboxes on Pathfinder, Gibraltar, and Caustic because they were bigger than other legends. Initially they tried adjusting the hitboxes, and this worked fine for Pathfinder, but Caustic and Gibraltar were still having problems. The result is the pair now have a new Fortified passive perk that reduces damage taken by 10%. Respawn will be monitoring this throughout the coming weeks to make sure the characters are now behaving well alongside others.

Weapons have been balanced to improve the power of long range gameplay. Leg shot damage reductions have been reduced on sniper weapons to reduce punishments for players at longer range. Sway has also been reduced. Away from the sniper category, the Spitfire, Wingman, and Havoc are all getting changes. You can see a full list of all of the weapon, legend and general changes in the patch notes.

Patch 1.1.1 and the Battle Pass XP event are live now.
