Fortnite Update Brings an Avengers: Endgame Crossover

By Rebecca Smith, 26 days ago
After Air Royale created a buzz amongst Fortnite players last week, the latest Limited Time Mode to come to the game brings a timely crossover. If you've seen Avengers: Endgame, you can continue the fun in the Endgame limited time mode in Battle Royale. Save The World players get a new character and weapon, while Creative players get new features and a new prefab to use.

In Marvel Studios Avengers: Endgame, Thanos and his Chitauri have invaded the Battle Royale island as they look for six Infinity Stones. One team of players takes on the role of Heroes. To help them, they'll have a treasure map that leads to a Mythic Avengers item, and more items are found in Chests dotted around the map. The other team of players takes on the role of Chitauri Invaders, who begin with a laser rifle, anti-structure grenade attack, and a jetpack. The first Invader to find an Infinity Stone will become Thanos, who has "a powerful punch, a destructive beam attack, and the ability to jump high into the air and then smash anything in his way when he comes back down".

Each Infinity Stone found will increase Thanos' abilities and increase the Chitauris' health. Both teams can respawn until a certain points in their objectives are reached. Heroes are tasked with eliminating the Chitauris and Thanos himself, while the Chitauris must find all six stones before eliminating the Heroes.

Save The World players get a new character and a new weapon. Cottontail Eagle Eye is a Legendary Outlander who can leave egg bombs behind when they phase shift. If that isn't enough, the Legendary Constructor Miss Bunny Penny has returned to the game complete with a Plasma Overdrive perk that reduces the cost of Plasma Pulse Energy. Meanwhile, the Bowler launcher returns to allow players to blast cannonballs at their enemies.

Finally, Creative players get the ability to add rounds to their creation's game settings, as well as a new Pirate Cove prefab complete with a Pirate Ship. There's also a new Phase Mode to help during the creation process where players can pass through terrain while bringing objects with them.
