Ghost Recon Wildlands Free Weekend Welcomes Operation Oracle Tomorrow

By Rebecca Smith,
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands was part of the one of the Tom Clancy's Franchise Bundles that released today on the Microsoft Store, but if you already own the game, you'll be wondering if there's anything new for you. The good news is that tomorrow's game update will bring along Operation Oracle, a two-mission story arc. If you're one of the people who are yet to play the game, there's also a free weekend for you.

Anybody who has completed the first mission of the game will be able to play the two new Operation Oracle missions, which begin in Montuyoc. Ghost Team Leader Cole D. Walker is searching for both the truth and a hostage, a Skell Tech engineer. He's been captured by Unidad, and it's up to the Ghosts to rescue him and protect the sensitive US industrial secrets he holds, but players may end up questioning the meaning of loyalty along the way. Those who complete the Operation will get the Executioner CQC Finisher if they equip Walker’s bracelet, and they'll also get Walker's Ghost tattoo. In the future, Ubisoft Club members will also be able to get the Walker Icon Skin, and more details on this will be released soon.

Operation Oracle is the final update for Year 2 of Ubisoft's post-launch support for the game. The update will arrive tomorrow, May 2nd, and includes improvements to Guerrilla mode. You can read the full patch notes here.

Those of you who are yet to try the game will be pleased to hear there's a free weekend also due to start tomorrow. As usual, during the free weekend, players can unlock achievements. While the game is available to try in its entirety, it has an estimated completion time of 60-80 hours, making it impossible to get the full completion during the trial period. If that doesn't bother you and you're just after as much free Gamerscore as you can get, you can start downloading the game tomorrow.

If you decide you like the games and want to play it after the free weekend is over, your progress will be carried over into the full game. The free weekend will last until May 5th.
