Celebrate 10 Years of Minecraft with the Original Pre-Alpha Browser Build

By Rebecca Smith,
Minecraft doesn't celebrate its tenth anniversary until May 17th, but that hasn't stopped the celebrations from starting early. If you've ever wondered what the game was like when it was first released in May 2009, now's your chance to find out, because the team has released the Minecraft Classic browser game, where players can experience the game's original build with just creative mode, 32 different types of blocks, all of the bugs, and no enemies or mobs.

Original Build

If you want to try out this build, you can access it here. The release of the build is just the start of the celebrations, with a sale beginning in the Minecraft Marketplace on Friday May 10th, while all players will be receiving a free gift. The team also has big announcements to make on May 17th, so stay tuned for the upcoming news as soon as we get it.
