Available Now in Xbox Game Pass: For The King

A new roguelike tabletop RPG, For the King, has launched straight into Xbox Game Pass. For the King blends the quest-die-repeat mechanics of rogue-likes with a hexagonal tile-based strategy game. So far, it's getting decent reviews — it's sitting at a 79 on Metacritic.

For The King is a strategic RPG that blends tabletop and roguelike elements in a challenging adventure that spans the realms. Set off on a single player experience or play cooperatively both online and locally. None before you have returned from their journey. Will you put an end to the Chaos? For The King is a challenging blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements. Each playthrough is unique with procedural maps, quests, and events. So far our community has given the game a 4.3 rating. It doesn't look as though it'll be a particularly quick completion — over 30 of the game's 56 achievements do not have any unlocks — but that's probably to be expected. By all accounts For the King is a challenging game, and the console version is packed with additional maps alongside the main story mode.
