Minecraft Gives Players Free Anniversary Map

By Rebecca Smith, 8 days ago
Friday marks the tenth anniversary of Minecraft. There may still be four days to wait, but the anniversary celebrations are in full swing. It started with the release of the original pre-alpha browser build and continues onwards with a free Anniversary map encompassing a giant Minecraft theme park full of memories.

Anniversary Map

Designed by Blockworks, the map lets players wander around the Mob Garden, Redstone Contraptions, and plenty of easter eggs. The map is available for Bedrock players, meaning players on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, iOS, and Android can all download the content from the in-game Minecraft Marketplace for free.

As well as the free map, there's currently a sale on content in the Minecraft Marketplace. The top ten Marketplace worlds/mash-up packs and the top ten Marketplace skin packs all have 10% off. The game itself is also discounted by 50% on Windows 10, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. If you're into more physical mementos of the occasion, the Minecraft Shop has 25% off all items until May 24th.

The Anniversary Map is available now.
