At the end of last week, many Forza Horizon 4 players were affected by a bug that reset their car masteries. The bug that caused the problem to happen was rapidly fixed, but developer Playground Games were left trying to restore all of the skill points players had lost, and to find a quick solution for that. The update has now arrived, and all players who were affected by this bug will have had their Car Mastery points refunded.
Once players reach the Pause Menu for the first time after the update was released, they'll see a message that tells them how many points have been refunded to their account. These need to be respent on the cars by the player, they will not be reallocated onto the cars that had them before. Players who had accumulated thousands of points will have all of them returned; however, if players have received more than 999 Car Mastery points, they will not be able to earn any more until enough points have been spent to bring their total below 999.
As an apology for the problem, affected players will have received 10 Super Wheel Spins as well. These started rolling out on Monday, May 13th, so if you haven't booted up the game since the problem occurred, you'll want to keep an eye open for those too.
