During the last episode of Inside Xbox in April, Microsoft unveiled a new subscription service called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which combined the previous Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions into a single subscription service. The service was intially only open to select Xbox Insiders in the Preview Alpha ring, but over the last few weeks the service has been rolled out to Apha and Beta Preview rings too. Now, Microsoft has announced that Preview Delta subscribers can test out the subscription service too.
The offer is available to "English speaking Xbox Insiders" in Australia, Canada, the US and UK as long as they're in the Preview Alpha, Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead, Preview Beta, or Preview Delta rings. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is usually priced at US$14.99 per month, but there is an introductory price of US$1 per month.
Joining Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will automatically upgrade any existing Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass memberships "at a 1 to 1 ratio each based on days remaining"; for example, players who have three months of Gold and three months of Game Pass will receive an extra six months of Ultimate. Players will also only be able to stack 36 months of Ultimate membership at any one time according to the terms and conditions. For more information, check out our handy guide here.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is due to be introduced to existing Xbox Game Pass markets around the world later this year.
