Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco has today revealed that The Dark Pictures - Man Of Medan, the first instalment of their three-part horror anthology, will be releasing on the Xbox One at the end of August, with pre-orders available from participating retailers.
To celebrate the release date announcement, a new trailer has also been released:
For those of you that are eager to pre-order Man Of Medan, you'll gain access to an exclusive Day 1 Curator's Cut that will be available after completing the game for the first time, providing an alternative perspective with new characters from previously played scenes, new decisions and choices that will impact the story in different ways and new scenes and secrets that won't appear in the original playthrough.
The Curator's Cut will be made available to those of you that don't pre-order for free at an as yet unannounced date in the future. Pete Samuels, the Executive Producer for the game, had this to say about the Curator's Cut:
The Curator’s Cut is different to the traditional Director’s Cut as it gives the player new ways to directly influence the story and its outcomes. Players will see and change events and relationships from the perspective of characters that weren’t under control in their first playthrough.
It adds a whole new layer to how the player understands and interacts with the story in a way that’s never been done before, and we’re excited for people to experience it.
The Dark Pictures - Man Of Medan will release on August 30th, and will be available digitally from the Xbox store and in boxed versions from retail stores.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the The Dark Pictures - Man Of Medan achievements.
