Dead Island 2's development can only really be described as rocky. Announced five years ago at E3 2014, the game has since been through developer issues and several delays. In a recent investor's presentation, publisher THQ Nordic confirmed the game is still in development and more information was promised soon. All signs are starting to point towards an E3 2019 reveal, and in case you had any doubts, the game has now appeared for pre-order on the Microsoft Store.

With most developers and publishers on lockdown until E3, details on the game are scarce. The pre-order does offer a brief description of the game and a placeholder release date of December 31st, 2019, although we'd expect that to be updated when more details are confirmed.
