Battlefield V Chapter 4: Defying the Odds Will Add Four New Maps

Battlefield V Chapter 3: Tides of War is drawing to a close, and it is soon to be replaced with the next chapter. While EA had promised more information on this at EA PLAY this weekend, it seems like DICE couldn't wait to share the details. Chapter 4: Defying the Odds will add new multiplayer maps throughout the season, including those more suited to smaller infantry battles and those that easily support " all-out vehicle warfare".

The first map to arrive will be a larger map that support 64 players. Based on the "Under No Flag" war story, "Al Sudan" drops players into the North African desert with large distances to cover, plenty of vehicles, and battles that span long-range to close quarters combat. This map will arrive at chapter launch. In July, the second map will arrive. "Marita" continues the Battle of Greece that started with the addition of the "Mercury" map in Chapter 3. As the Allied forces try to stop the Axis army from invading the area, players will face a range of terrain, from the mountainsides that add verticality to cobblestone roads that overlook the river. Despite also being a large map for up to 64 players, this one is more suited to infantry-focused combat.

Two smaller maps will then follow, both of which are suited for "intimate" infantry combat. Players will be tasked with destroying explosives factory on "Lofoten Islands", while the Allies try to dispel the Axis forces in "Provence". Both maps will arrive later in the summer.

Chapter 4: Defying the Odds will end in October. However, we won't be jumping straight into Chapter 5. "Operation Underground" will bridge the gap between the two seasons, a map based on "Operation Métro" from Battlefield 3. This map features intense urban warfare, with players battling through urban streets, courtyards, plazas, service tunnels, and train platforms.

More information will be presented on Chapter 4: Defying the Odds during EA PLAY this Saturday, June 8th, at 10:30 am PT. If you'd rather avoid all spoilers until the season starts, you'll need to steer clear of trailers until June 27th, which is when Chapter 4 will begin.
