Renowned studio and boutique publisher Double Fine surprised everyone this evening by announcing that they are rolling themselves into Microsoft's grand Xbox Game Studios project. Tim Schaefer himself made the announcement.
Double Fine are responsible for cult classics Iron Brigade, Stacking, Psychonauts, Headlander and more, and Schaefer is known for his work on Day of the Tentacle and other classic LucasArts projects back in the nineties.

All in all it's a respectable get for Microsoft — Double Fine aren't a huge studio but they are highly respected, and with their own publishing arm it's telling that they have decided to pack up and move to Xbox. We can't wait to see what else they have in store beyond Psychonauts 2.
