Tango Software Announce New Horror IP Ghostwire Tokyo

By James Kearle,
After Tango Softworks Creative Director Shinji Mikami joined the stage during Bethesda's 2019 E3 conference, many may have thought that a new entry into The Evil Within series was about to be announced. However, Mikami instead announced that the developers were working on a brand new IP called GhostWire: Tokyo, the first new IP to grace Bethesda Softworks in quite some time.

As seen in the below reveal trailer, GhostWire: Tokyo is an action-adventure horror game where modern-day Tokyo has become plagued by a series of mysterious disappearances from an unknown source. You will be tasked with uncovering the cause of these disappearances and save Tokyo from its grip using your supernatural "spectral" abilities.

Astute readers may have noticed that the platforms for release were noticeably absent from the trailers. As all of Tango Softworks works to date have released on Xbox, it is reasonable to presume that the game will be coming to Xbox in some shape or form. Considering also that Project Scarlett was officially unveiled tonight, it is also plausible that GhostWire: Tokyo may very well be a next-generation release.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the GhostWire: Tokyo achievements.
