The latest trailer for Kingdom Hearts III DLC Re:Mind was revealed during E3, adding a healthy dose of mystery to the post-credits proceedings while showing several of the game's stars as playable characters.
All story elements from this trailer involve hooded Organization members talking to each other in their characteristically cryptic style. A young Xehanort talks to an unknown hooded figure about the effectiveness of the black robe's ability to protect against the Darkness, likely referring to using it to travel between worlds. A second scene between Xigbar and Luxord suggests that Xigbar is not the only one hiding something.
Sections of gameplay were exclusively combat, with all but one of them set in the same location. These alternated featuring Sora, Roxas, Riku, and Aqua as the playable character in sections where they were not playable before. All of these characters have been playable in the past in certain circumstances, so it is unclear if Re:Mind will have similar limitations on your ability to use them. In the scene where Sora was being played, he sported what appeared to be the Oathkeeper Keyblade and his Final Form.
Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind is slated for release on Xbox One this winter. Until then, let the speculation begin. Who do you think the mysterious hooded figure is, and what is it that Luxord has to hide?
