Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Operation Phantom Sight began yesterday, and it was accompanied by a patch with plenty of gameplay improvements and bug fixes. One of the changes they made that the patch notes failed to mention was that the unlock requirements for 33 achievements have been changed to reduce the amount of grinding players have to do to get them.
Any achievements that required specific maps/missions, or terrorist hunt, have had their descriptions and possibly their names changed. The achievements now focus far more on casual and ranked multiplayer. Here's a full list of changes to the achievements:
Before: That was Fast! - Find the Objective in TDM - Secure Area within 20 seconds in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer.
Before: Death from Above - Breach a Floor or Ceiling in "House" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
Before: Article 5 - Complete mission Article 5.
Before: Fortress - Reinforce 2 breakable walls in "Bank" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
Before: Heavily Fortified - Complete Situation Heavily Fortified.
Before: Improvise Defense - Complete Situation Improvise Defense.
Before: No Intel - Complete Situation No Intel.
Before: Neutralize Cell - Complete Situation Neutralize cell.
Before: Asset Protection - Complete Situation Asset Protection.
Before: Cold Zero - Complete Situation Cold Zero.
Before: Tubular Assault - Complete Situation Tubular Assault.
Before: High Value Target - Complete Situation High Value Target.
Before: On Your Six - Unlock one of the 10 Original Defense Operators
Before: Taking Point - Unlock one of the 10 Original Attack Operators
Before: Master and Commander - Earn 3 STARS in one Situation
Before: Suburban Extraction - Complete Situation Suburban Extraction.
Before: CQB Basics - Complete Situation CQB Basics.
Before: Playing Favorites - Unlock all Operators in one of the original CTUs.
Before: Full Roster - Unlock all 20 Original Operators.
Before: Jack of All Trades - Win a match with all 20 Original Operators in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
Before: Spender - Unlock 50 weapon attachments.
Before: Coming through! - Breach and rappel through a window in "Consulate" in Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
Before: Air Force One - Defend the Meeting Room in "Plane" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer or Terrorist Hunt.
Before: Who Dares - Win a match of TDM - Hostage in "Hereford" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer.
Before: Sausage Fest - Win a match of TDM - Secure Area in "Clubhouse" on Casual/Ranked Multiplayer.
Before: Terro Hurt - Complete 20 Terrorist Hunt missions.
Before: Brain Surgeon - Get 150 Headshots in Terrorist Hunt missions.
Before: Hit and Run - Complete a Terrorist Hunt mission in under 2 minutes.
Before: Master - Complete a Terrorist Hunt mission on REALISTIC difficulty.
Before: Completionist - Collect all STARS in Situations.
Before: Terro Hunter - Kill 2500 terrorists in Terrorist Hunt.
Before: Camper - Successfully complete any Defend game mode 100 times in Terrorist Hunt.
Before: That bullet pen... - Kill 200 terrorists with bullet penetration in Terrorist Hunt.
If you have already met the new requirements for the achievements, they will unlock for you as soon as you boot up the game as all previous progress counts towards their unlock requirements. You can also unlock the achievements by visiting the game page on the Xbox app on PC/mobile, or by looking at the game page on your Xbox One console.
