Vote Now for July 2019's TA Playlist Game

By Mark Delaney, 1 month ago
This year, like every year, July is the quietest month for video game new releases. With presumably lots of free time, we decided to fill in the schedules of our TA Playlist faithful and go big with four of the most critically lauded RPGs of all-time. These four games truly need no introduction, but just for consistency's sake, we've given them each one anyway.

Which game gets your vote this month? We'll share the results in one week. Until then it's time to debate why your pick deserves the July TA Playlist spotlight!

Final Fantasy VII

The world has fallen under the dominion of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a sinister corporation that has monopolized the planet's very life force as Mako energy.
In the urban megalopolis of Midgar, an anti-Shinra rebel group calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their campaign of resistance.
Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra's elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the rebels, unaware that he will be drawn into an epic battle for the fate of the planet, while having to come to terms with his own lost past.

Mass Effect

Mass Effect

You are Commander Shepard of the SS Normandy, an elite agent in humanity’s Systems Alliance Military. Explore the galaxy with your hand picked squad of combat, tech and biotic specialists as you race against time to stop a madman bent on galactic destruction.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim: Special Edition

The next chapter in the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls saga arrives from the makers of the 2006 and 2008 Games of the Year, Bethesda Game Studios. Skyrim reimagines and revolutionizes the open-world fantasy epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world open for you to explore any way you choose.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Blood and Wine - April Screens 1

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, next-generation open world role-playing game set in a visually stunning fantasy universe full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher, you play as a professional monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast open world rich with merchant cities, pirate islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore.
As always, any version of any game will count. This month, that includes the remaster of Skyrim and the Game of the Year Edition of The Witcher 3. Mass Effect comes via back compatibility, while Final Fantasy VII recently made its Xbox debut. Increase your profile badge for TA Playlist, debate the merits of one of history's greatest RPGs, and save the universe/Ciri/Gaia/Tamriel.
