Alcatraz Returns to Blackout in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

By Rebecca Smith, 4 months ago
The Alcatraz map proved popular in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode, and many were disappointed when it turned out to be just a temporary addition. This week's update has brought back the map with new destinations and a restructured Cellhouse building. There are also changes to Ground War mode, and a few tweaks for Zombies.

Players who enjoy the Icebreaker Multiplayer map will be pleased to find a multi-level Submarine has appeared on the northern edge of Blackout's returning Alcatraz map. At the opposite end of the island, Contraband fans will recognise the new shipwreck that offers verticality and angled decks that give cover and vantage points looking towards the cliffs. The Tactical Raft will allow players to navigate between these two points easily. Meanwhile, the Cellhouse has lost one of its cell blocks and the roof that used to be over this area. This has created an open space in the centre of the building with different sightlines, a new landing point, and new grappling opportunities.

Elsewhere, there have been changes to Blackout's Ground War mode that include a larger starting zone, a more rapid first Collapse, and no more falling through the ground at the start of the match. Zombies has received some stability improvements too. You can find a full list of changes in the patch notes.

The update is available now.
