Fortnite's 14 Days of Summer Begins Today

By Rebecca Smith,
If the weather is anything like the rain that's currently falling outside my window, it doesn't particularly feel like summer. It seems a bit odd, then, to see a whole host of Fortnite characters sprawled on the beach soaking up the sun, but that's exactly what they're doing to herald the start of the game's 14 Days of Summer event. The event brings new features for all three areas of the game and the fun starts today.

Battle Royale players get new content every day. Each day will bring an unvaulted weapon for a period of 24 hours, a new limited time mode, a daily challenge, a free reward, and new items in the Item Shop. The full list of limited time modes is below, although they're not in any particular order, and you can find out more information on each mode here:
  • Heavy Metal Squads
  • Storm Chasers: Surfin' (squads)
  • Splashdown Squads
  • Power Up Solos
  • Leave None Behind Duos
  • Use With Care Duos
  • Headshots Duos
  • Tank Battle Squads
  • Builders Paradise Squads
  • Wick's Bounty Duos
  • Arsenal (Solos)
  • Rumble Squads
  • Loadout Swap Squads
  • Strategic Structures Squads
Save the World players get a new quest every day where they need to help Homebase to hold the best summer party. Completing the quests will earn Summer Tickets that can be used to unlock items in the store, and completing all 14 quests will unlock a new "explosive" weapon. Meanwhile, Creative players get a new featured island every day.

The 14 Days of Summer event begins today, so if you're wanting to claim all of the rewards, make sure you log in and take part every day for the next two weeks. Patch v9.30 Content Update #1 also arrived today, and if you're interested in the additions made there, check out the full patch notes.

We've got the full list of Fortnite achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
