Xbox Game Pass: What's Going on With Timespinner?

By Sam Quirke, 7 days ago
Timespinner's launch on Game Pass has been a little confusing. It turned up in the Xbox Game Pass for PC announcement as an exclusive to that Pass, but you can still put it on your console – it's just a little awkward.

Is Timespinner available on Xbox One and PC?

Yes. Timespinner is a Play Anywhere title, so if you buy it on Xbox One or PC, you can play it on the other device by downloading it from the associated Store.

Is Timespinner in Xbox Game Pass?

Timespinner is only in Xbox Game Pass for PC. It's not part of Xbox Game Pass on console at the time of writing.

If you have Xbox Game Pass for PC or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can download Timespinner onto your Xbox One at no additional cost, but you won't find it in the Game Pass section of your dashboard. Search for it in the Xbox One Store and download it.

If you don't have Xbox Game Pass for PC you won't be able to download Timespinner on Xbox One at no additional cost. However you can still purchase it on Xbox One directly — and it'll be Play Anywhere when you do. Here's a link to purchase it:

Travel back in time to change fate itself, in this beautifully crafted story-driven adventure, inspired by classic 90s action-platformers. Join timekeeper Lunais on her quest for revenge against the empire that killed her family, using time-bending powers to explore a vast, connected world.

Is Timespinner worth playing?

Well, if you've gone to all of this effort to download it — absolutely! As we mentioned in our Xbox Game Pass July review, Timespinner is a throwback to classic 90s action-platformers. If that's your jam, you'll totally get enough out of Timespinner to be enjoyable even though it doesn't have many unique ideas. However if you're not into the aesthetics or gameplay of the decade, there probably won't be much for you here.

Are you downloading Timespinner this week? Let us know in the comments! And thanks to Lucas Lacerda for the heads up!
