Vigor is Free to Play This Weekend for Xbox Live Gold Members

By Sean Carey,
Bohemia Interactive's post-apocalyptic survival shooter Vigor is free-to-play this weekend for all Xbox Live Gold members. Vigor is currently available in the Xbox Game Preview Program, and can usually be trialled for two hours, however, thanks to Xbox Live Free Play Days, you can get your hands on Vigor for longer this weekend.

Vigor will be free to play today, August 8th, through until Sunday, August 11th. This coincides with the recent 0.9 update — which made significant changes to shooting mechanics and introduced new features such as a spectator mode and customisation.

When Vigor releases this summer (no official date has been announced), it will be a free-to-play title. However, the idea behind the free weekend is to test out some new features and increase the player count before the game gets its full release.

If you happen to enjoy your time spent with Vigor, you can purchase the Vigor Founder's Pack ($19.99/£16.74/€19.99) which offers up several bonuses. You get unlimited access to the game during the Xbox Game Preview phase, exclusive cosmetic items and some in-game currency.

If you can't get to your Xbox just yet and want to know more about Vigor, check out our preview here.

The Free Play Days event hasn't quite started just yet, but keep an eye on the link below and be sure to download Vigor when it's available:
