Xbox Gameplay Chart, Week Ending 18 August 19

By Sam Quirke, 30 days ago
There's been some infighting in the top 10 spots of the Xbox Gameplay Chart, but overall those coveted spots remain dominated by the same games. Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto V have switched places, as have FIFA 19 and Overwatch, but none of these have managed to topple Fortnite from the number 1 spot. There's more movement further down the list, with Forza Motorsport 6 and No Man's Sky as the new faces this week.

Forza Motorsport 6 has jumped into the top 40 for the first time, reaching a very respectable 18 on the chart. Forza 6 came to Games with Gold just last week, and its $100 Complete Add-Ons Collection was on sale for $4.99 around the same time, which probably explains the game's sudden leap into the top 40.

No Man's Sky also makes its first appearance, settling at 37 on the chart. The No Man's Sky Beyond update came out recently, bringing a host of new features and fixes, which no doubt explains the game's first showing in the chart. Sea of Thieves has risen by one place, perhaps buoyed upwards by its big Dark Relics update, which had everything from new Voyages and titles to rowboats with harpoons. Borderlands 3 releases soon, and it seems players are dealing with the excitement by returning to its predecessor, as Borderlands 2 has also come up one place.

Apart from a general shuffling there hasn't been much movement, and No Man's Sky and Forza Motorsport 6 are the only new faces. Gamescom is coming up fast, and with the likes of Greedfall, Biomutant and Borderlands 3 releasing soon, it'll be interesting to see what gets knocked out of the charts — and if anything will defeat Fortnite.
