Over 6 Million Player-Made Maps Are Being Moved into the Master Chief Collection

By Heidi Nicholas,
343 Industries and Microsoft announced the planned migration of game types and maps from Halo 3, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 into Halo: The Master Chief Collection in June. Now, the number of maps transferred has been confirmed as over 6.6 million.

The copying over of maps took place earlier this month, and this is the first announcement on how successful it's been. Their forum explains that maps and game types can be accessed on MCC "when Halo: Reach releases on both platforms (with Halo 3 and Halo 4 content on PC becoming available once those titles are released)", and that they'll give a more specific date when they can.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!

Can't wait for Reach. Preparing my psyche for the inevitable LASO and 3 Hour Legendary speedrun achievements.

I wouldn't care either way. In some ways, if they did put in a separate list, I'd rather do it all over again.

I would gladly work for the 600 achievements again. I couldn't care less if the progress transferred
If at first you don't succeed, lag switch.

Sorry but i'm pretty sure they'll add at least 1000g across Reach's campaing and multiplayer.

Just pray there's no LASO achievements this time. Even then, i'm not that hopeful.

Apparently multiplayer will be free, but campaign will be paid DLC, so at the very least, you won't have to touch the single player if you don't want to. (It's possible I have SP and MP switched on that, but one is definitely paid DLC)

You're right. Multiplayer will be free, only campaign will be premium dlc. Still i'd be VERY surprised if no achievements are added for single player.

Oh, I'm sure there will be achievements. Personally, I don't feel the need to buy DLC just because they put out achievements with it. I know lots here feel like the game isn't complete until you buy every $20 DLC, but if I'm not feeling the game enough to spend over $60, I'm not going to pump more money into it for GS.

Also, if you have Gamepass, then you get the campaign and firefight for "free". Just FYI (I didn't know until just now when I looked).

I'm sure that since every game in this collection has:
    - complete every level
    - complete every difficulty/3 hours
    - LASO playlist
    - complete 1 and 3 playlists
    - par time
    - par score

...this DLC won't be any different.

I know they added terminals to Halo 1 and 2 because they were remastered, and while there were no terminals in the 360 release of Reach, I'm sure they'll somehow manage to add them.

Have to wonder though, will it include the Noble, Defiant and Anniversary maps/achievements?

10 missions, that's 30 achievements right there (complete each, par time and par score).
    3 for playlists/LASO
4 difficulties and completing it in less than 3 hours (5 more)

That's 38 achievements guaranteed, not to mention specific action/Firefight/MP.
