Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Event May Make Rare Achievements Unlockable

UPDATE: Some of our own community are reporting that the in-game calendar is not syncing up to the calendar shown on EA's website, casting doubt as to whether the Boss Hunt will show up at all on the stated dates. However if you're desperate to get these achievements it's probably worth logging on during the below mentioned dates just in case. We have reached out to EA for comment.

Original story:
If you've been aiming for the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 achievements completion, you will likely know that some of the list is near impossible to unlock thanks to rare limited time events. One of them, the Boss Hunt, is coming back later this month, giving a short window to nab these rare unlocks.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

According to EA's Events Calendar, there's a number of limited-time activities going on throughout September. The one achievement hunters will care about in particular is Boss Hunt, running September 24th, 2019 through to September 30th, 2019. During Boss Hunt players can unlock the following from the game's Trials of Gnomus title update achievement list.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2Boss BattleThe Boss Battle achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 worth 20 pointsEnter the Mystery Portal and Defeat a Boss Hunt on Normal Difficulty

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2Boss Battle SpecialistThe Boss Battle Specialist achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 worth 62 pointsEnter the Mystery Portal and Defeat a Boss Hunt on Hard Difficulty

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2Boss Battle BossThe Boss Battle Boss achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 worth 349 pointsEnter the Mystery Portal and Defeat a Boss Hunt on Craaazy Difficulty

Unfortunately there isn't an event this month that includes the Cats & Dinos game mode that would help earn these currently discontinued achievements:

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2Open the Door Get on the FloorThe Open the Door Get on the Floor achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 worth 13 pointsEnter the Mystery Portal and Complete a Full Game of Cats vs Dinos as a Dino

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2Alright MeowThe Alright Meow achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 worth 13 pointsEnter the Mystery Portal and Complete a Full Game of Cats vs Dinos as a Cat

The events essentially change the Game Mode that is available behind the Mystery Portal in the game's Town Hall. From September 24th through September 30th, players should head to the Portal and attempt to smash out these three achievements if they are after the full completion.

Hopefully this isn't the last of the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 events to arrive, but one has to wonder how much longer the events will be supported given the company's track record and a new game imminent. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville seems to be both streamlining and expanding on the ideas of Garden Warfare to the point where — assuming the new game is any good — it will probably make the GW series obsolete. We suggest those looking to finish this game off get on with the limited-time event based achievements as soon as possible.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville arrives in full on October 16th. A special Founder's Pack edition is available now at a reduced price, which allows players to dive in a full six weeks early while EAV run some final tests.
