Last week, D3Publisher announced that Jeremy McGrath's Offroad
would be coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade, with gameplay details due to follow at a later date. However, instead of revealing the details at a special press event, or even waiting until E3 in June, both D3Publisher and developer 2XL Games
decided that they were going to reveal the first details at this year’s Lucas Oil Off-road Racing Series event at the Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA. Those details have now managed to find their way to us, and here they are.
Players get to race a wide variety of vehicle classes, such as Rally Cars, Pro Buggies, and Trophylite Trucks, around an assortment of offroad tracks.
The single player career mode follows McGrath's aim to win the PRO-2 championship within the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The online multiplayer supports up to eight racers, although the modes have yet to be revealed.
McGrath explains his transition into gaming:
I’m a huge fan of gaming and always have been, and being able to represent my transition from Supercross to short-course off road racing in a game is an awesome opportunity. Having seen the work that 2XL Games has done with racing games in the past with Rainbow Studios and more, they are the perfect team to work with to create a fast-paced, intense racing experience that fans will want to get their hands on.Jeremy McGrath's Offroad
is due to be released late into the summer.
