Free Play Days: Dead by Daylight, Just Cause 4 and TerraTech Free This Weekend

By Rich Stone, 1 month ago
Everyone likes free weekend activities, whether that's trying to escape a ritualistic murder, putting balloons on cars and blowing them up or building colourful tanks. Amazingly all three of these classic weekend hobbies are available for free right at home on your Xbox One. Available from later today until Monday, here are your Xbox Free Play Days games for the weekend. Click through in the panels below to start downloading, and if you think you might want to pick these games up in a sale later on to finish off those achievement lists, hit "Set Price Alert" to get a message next time the game is discounted.

Dead by Daylight: Special Edition

Dead by Daylight Achievements

While you shouldn't expect to finish off all of the Dead by Daylight Achievements this weekend, you might find that you can at least get a few more ticked off thanks to an expanded player base. It's an entirely online multiplayer experience and plenty of the achievements require specific configurations while others need some grinding. All in all, probably an advantage to hop back in this weekend even if you already got the game via Xbox Game Pass.

Death Is Not an Escape. Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed.

A dedicated hunter might just be able to squeeze all of the Just Cause 4 Achievements out in the weekend period, but it would be an impressive feat thanks to a few unfortunate grinds in this very average game. As well as the usual vacuuming of quests and activities you'd expect from any open-world game of the last couple of generations, there's also armies and Chaos Levels to build, and that takes time. Check out the list for the community's best grind-reducing hacks, but be warned — you're probably still in for the long haul, and there might be better ways to spend your weekend.

Just Cause 4
Just Cause 4

Welcome to Solís, a huge South American world home of conflict, oppression and extreme weather conditions. Just Cause 4 sees rogue agent Rico Rodriguez land in Solís to hunt down the truth about his past, at any cost. Strap into your wingsuit, equip your fully customizable grappling hook, and get ready to bring the thunder!

TerraTech

TT

Terratech is what happens when a hyperactive person gets bored of building log cabins in Minecraft and wants to build tanks to shoot people with. It has an abysmally low player count but luckily, despite having a multiplayer option, the TerraTech Achievements do not include any online requirements. That's for the best, because the servers were pretty much dead on arrival. If you do manage to rip through the achievement list this weekend, you'll be treated to a hefty 10.93 ratio achievement at the finish — this figure will likely only go up this weekend as a few more folks try the game out and then bounce off of it.
