Hitman developer, IO Interactive, is partnering with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to bring "a new console and PC game experience to players worldwide."

No details have been given as to what the game could be, but Hakan Abrak CEO of IOI, clarified the project as a "new universe." IOI opened a second studio in Malmo earlier this year and is currently recruiting for a bunch of new positions.

Warner Bros. and IOI have previously been working together, with Warner Bros. publishing some of the titles in the Hitman series — including Hitman 2, Hitman: Definitive Edition and Hitman HD Enhanced Collection. Before this, IOI worked with Eidos Interactive. Eidos was then bought out by Square Enix, with Square Enix dropping the developer in 2017. Warner Bros. then stepped in. Abrak said, “over the past few years, Warner Bros. has shown us first-hand that they understand and respect our creative vision, and we’re looking forward to continuing this relationship."

Hopefully, we'll find out more soon about what this new game could be.
