Season of Skulls is Live Now for Anthem By Heidi Nicholas, 17 Oct 2019 CommentsThere are new challenges in Anthem. The Cataclysm may be over, but the Season of Skulls is live now: The Season of Skulls is a themed event running the length of the season, and Anthem's site gives a rundown of what to expect. "As a thick and ominous fog gathers among the trees and strange sounds echo in the distance, the people of Bastion gather together to rise up against the darkness with determination, defiance, and celebration. Fort Tarsis stands proud with towering bonfires, colorful banners, and the bones of its vanquished foes – a bastion of security amid the chaos. The Season of Skulls marks a change from the grim necessity of survival to the celebration of life and courage in the face of darkness."There's no level requirements to access the Season of Skulls content, and all players will have needed to do is complete the Incursion story, and select Season of Skulls on the Game Modes menu. Bioware say aspects of Season of Skulls will feel familiar to those who played the Cataclysm, but there are still some surprises to expect. There'll be arenas to clear for a place on the leader board, with inversions thrown in to keep players on their toes. Season-related events will also be available to those who've unlocked Freeplay. There'll also be Anomalies based on Arcanist, Freelancer and Sentinel events, followed by Boss events. The drop rate for Legendary items will be increased during Season of Skulls. Bioware also advise completing weekly challenges to unlock vanity items instead of getting them from the store. Lastly, there'll be hints about Season of Skulls hidden around Fort Tarsis.Check out our Best Xbox One Third-Person Shooters Available in 2019 article for a compilation of other great games in this genre.Xbox One View comments Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
