Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest Event Kicks Off October 24

By Sean Carey,
Borderlands 3 is the next title in a long list of games to get some sort of Halloween themed event. Bloody Harvest is a free content update that runs from October 24 to December 5 and sees players journey to Heck, a new location full of challenges.

Getting to Heck comes with a few caveats. You'll find a friendly Saurian called Maurice on your ship — Maurice requires you collect a certain amount of Hecktoplasm via a repeatable mission before opening a portal to Heck. Once in Heck players will take on an undead army before battling with a new boss called Captain Haunt.

With the event comes a bunch of new loot only available during Bloody Harvest. New skins for weapons and characters and a powerful new shotgun called the Fearmonger are all up for grabs. There are also new Anointed weapons that play off a new Terror Mechanic. Haunted enemies can inflict a Terror debuff that affects aim and partially clouds vision. This can be turned around, and Terror can be used as a boost of power.

The event will run from October 24 to December 5 and players will need to have unlocked Sanctuary III in the campaign to access Bloody Harvest.

Nice! Shame this overlaps with Outer Worlds, otherwise i'd probably play.

Doubt it as it seems to be a limited time event.

Doubt it as well since Borderlands 2’s Halloween event didn’t have achievements. And this time it’s limited. BUT FREE smile

Doubt it. I didn't feel like being left out in the cold so I had to reply.

Why would you have anointments for a limited time event? The guns I can see as they will most likely be added to the already insanely high world drop only list (if they don't they are gonna be stupid and pointless once the inevitable level cap increase comes along) but if anointments work on fear and this only lasts a while they will literally be pointless once the event is over unless they plan on making these mechanics stick around for w/e reason somehow which I doubt.

I'll give it a go more than likely, unless Outer worlds is to good to put down.

    Will this have Challenges?
The Xbox Challenge system is so under utilized but this seems perfect for it.

Wouldn't it? I'm sure it's a hassle for developers to keep implementing what are essentially new achievements without any real financial gain to be had, but it would really keep involvement, especially on a game like this. Unfortunately, it's doubtful since they wouldn't have an equivalent on other platforms.

    Agreed though.

Also (without sounding like a dick) achievements are not only for the 100% completionist that's you choice, why wouldn't they have achievements? I'm not saying they will but there would be nothing wrong with it if they did.

I also love how they call it Heck with all of the adult themed material that's in the game.
