Xbox All Access Console Deal Offers Upgrade to Scarlett, 24 Months of Game Pass Ultimate By Sam Quirke, 28 Oct 2019 CommentsXbox continue their streak of very consumer-friendly initiatives with Xbox All Access, which grants 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with the purchase of a console — as well as an opportunity for owners to upgrade straight to Project Scarlett when it arrives in Holiday 2020.This almost preposterous deal gives players the opportunity to get started on Xbox for "as little as $19.99 a month"; Xbox All Access includes:Xbox One Console (US and UK players can choose between an Xbox One X, an Xbox One S, or an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition — presumably at various pricing tiers, though these have not been revealed just yet)An Xbox Wireless Controller24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — as a reminder, that's Xbox Game Pass on console, Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox Live GoldWe had a feeling a financing deal like this was on the cards, but what's most surprising is that there will be some kind of upgrade deal for those who choose to upgrade to Xbox's next major console, still codenamed Project Scarlett, when it arrives in the holidays next year — though they will have to have made "18 payments" according to the small print, meaning that early adopters of Xbox All Access will get the as-yet-unknown Scarlett discount a little earlier. The limited time offer for those who take up Xbox All Access before the end of 2019 is that they will only have to make 12 months' worth of payments before they can get their hands on Project Scarlett, meaning they will be able to get straight on the new console at launch — and presumably straight on to Halo Infinite.Another surprise is that this doesn't require purchase direct from Microsoft Store either — it's going to be available online from Amazon.com in the US. In the U.K., the deal will be available in-store at GAME. It'll also be available in-person or online at Smyths Toys. Here's the pricing in the UK and US, courtesy of GAME and Amazon:Console Price per month for 24 months (UK) Price per month for 24 months (US)Xbox One X £24.99 $30.99Xbox One S (with disc drive) £19.99 $22.99Xbox One S All-Digital Edition £17.99 $19.99It's worth pointing out that this isn't a subscription service like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — it's a financing deal, much like your average phone contract when it offsets the cost of the handset. Players will need to be in good credit standing to apply for the deal. The Project Scarlett variant of Xbox All Access will have to be purchased from the same retailer too, including a trade-in of the previous box. Regardless of the fine print, as a marketing moment Xbox are continuing to lead the conversation in terms of the next generation, especially when it comes to freedom of access and cost-efficiency.
