2K Releases Patch for WWE 2K20 That Fixes Some of the Game's Biggest Issues

By Sean Carey,
2K has pushed out an urgent patch for WWE 2K20 which addresses many of the reported graphical issues and gameplay bugs.

WWE 2K20

The wrestling title didn't have a good launch with players reporting bizarre game-breaking graphical problems and items missing from the $130 Collector's Edition. Players would disappear through the floor of the ring, become juddering messes, often warp to the other side of the arena and matches sometimes couldn't even be completed — with the referee refusing to count a pin. The patch released today should hopefully fix many of these issues.

Players will be pleased to know that basic gameplay mechanics such as hit detection and aiming should now be fixed. Using tables, ladders and other objects have also been addressed. Characters should no longer teleport around the arena and online stability, matchmaking and lag have all been patched. The patch notes are listed below:

Patch 1.02
  • Gameplay and Controls
  • Graphics and Clipping
  • Hair Physics
  • Hit detection and aiming
  • Interactions with tables, ladders, steel steps, and other objects
  • Referee actions
  • Onscreen button prompts
  • Characters “warping” or moving unnaturally around the arena
  • Crashes and Freezing
  • Image downloads
  • Entrances and attires
  • Universe mode editing and saving
  • Custom and Created Superstars and creation modes
  • Commentary and sound effects
  • Online Stability, matchmaking, desyncs, and lag
The game was released to overwhelmingly negative reviews due to these bugs and strange character models. WWE 2K20 currently sits at a Metascore of just 39 with not a single positive critic review. The user review score is even worse at a 0.7 with over 63 ratings with many fans demanding refunds.

2K has also said: "We expect to roll out additional patches in the near future to address additional concerns." So it's likely we will be getting a few more patches in the near future.
