Upcoming Modern Warfare Maps and Modes Leaked on Reddit

By Heidi Nicholas,
In more data-mining for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it looks as though almost 40 new maps could be on their way to the game, along with 23 game modes.

Reddit user Senescallo posted about the 48 maps, which they've sorted into categories. First there's five "Gunfight" maps: Cage, Cargo, Hook, Exclusion Zone, and Shoot House. Next there's 30 "6v6/10v10" maps: Aniyah Tac, Crash, Dam, Krovnik Farmland, Gulag, Hospital, Layover, Lowline, Lumber, Malyshev, Milbase, Oasis, Port, Prison, Rivne, Shipmight, Shipment (Day and Night), Slums, Stadium, Sub Base, Super, Urzikstan, Torez, Transit, TV Station, Faridah, Rust, Takedown, and Borderline. Then there's one "Ground War" map: Smetna Farms, and two "Other" maps: Gun Course and Marksman Range. Some have pictures or descriptions included; for instance, Senescallo has posted a picture of the "Gun Course" map, along with a description: "Make your way through the course as fast as possible while clearing all enemy targets and avoiding civilian casualties".

Next, as noted on CharlieIntel, Senescallo posts about 23 multiplayer modes apparently coming to Modern Warfare. A few don't have descriptions, such as Showdown, Onslaught, Incursion, Fireteam, Breach and Arms Race. Next, Senescallo gives a list of modes along with descriptions:

Team Juggernaut: "Each team has a Juggernaut. Juggernaut kills are worth more points. The first team to reach the score limit wins."
Reinforce: "Capture points to revive fallen teammates. Taking all points will win the round."
Rupture: "Take control of a powerful Juggernaut and push to the enemy's base to win."
One in the Chamber: "Gain Ammo by eliminating enemies. Highest score wins."
Invasion (+ Hardcore): "Take your team's flag into the enemy team's base."
Infected: "Eliminated Survivors become Infected. Infect everyone, or survive the game to win."
High Value Target: "Gain score by eliminating players on the opposing team. Extract high value enemy combatants to steal score back."
Gun Game: "Be the first player to score a kill with each one of the provided weapons."
Grind: "Recover dog tags and take them to the objective marker to score for your team."
Drop Zone: "Hold the Drop Zone to earn points and Drone Packages."
Demolition: "Teams alternate in attacking and defending two bomb sites, both of which must be destroyed by the attacking team equipped with bombs."
Defender: "Capture the drone and hold it to upload data and earn points for your team."
Search and Rescue: "Teams take turns defending and destroying an objective. Recover dog tags to allow or deny respawns."
Capture the Flag: "Get the enemy flag and return it to your base."
Fire Mission (+ Hardcore): "Eliminate enemies, capture HQ's and extract VIPs to earn score for your team."
Assault: "Attackers attack bomb site. Defenders defend!"
All or Nothing: "Spawn with a custom pistol, throwing knife and no starting ammo. Extra perks are gained on kills, but you lose everything on death."

Infinity Ward haven't announced or confirmed anything about modes or maps planned for the Modern Warfare's future, but we'll be sure to update you if they confirm anything on these lists.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!

Which unobtainable? If you're talking about Spec Ops, that content has yet to be released.

It's unobtainable in the sense that the content hasn't released yet, my man. The achievement isn't broken in that sense. I've tried to message about when we can expect the missions to be made available, as it was promised on launch according to their blog.

That’s a hell of a lot of free content, bravo! Let’s be honest the launch maps suck, but the game itself seems excellent. Enjoying my time with it, even though I’m getting hammered online

Very nice, really enjoying the game and plenty of content on the way, no complaints from me yet.

Nothing is free in the gaming industry, there will be lootboxes or some other form of greed soon, see bo4 for reference

Right, but that's up to the player to decide if they buy or not, it isn't needed in any way to play the game, nor is it forced on you to pay money, so yes, they are free updates.

In terms of lootboxes, it costs as much as you decide it's going to cost, my man. You can't use lootboxes as an example of gaming "not being free" because those payments aren't forced on anyone. They're just there MOST times as a cosmetic if someone so desires, and in cases where it's something actually useable like a weapon or armor, it's available to get in game without purchase if you put the time in for it. In some cases, you can even earn lootboxes just by playing (Overwatch and BO4 being excellent examples). If the DLC is accessible for free without an additional purchase, the content is indeed free.

All that will go a long way to improving the MP experience. As of right now, it's grown a bit stale on me from seeing the same few maps all the time.

I haven't played a COD multiplayer probably since MW3 and I didn't like the direction it took with all tiny maps etc. However now that they've got rid of all the futuristic stuff and exo suit things I was excited to try MW. I have to say I'm loving it. Ground War is an awesome change of pace and I personally think the current maps are great. I don't know how they could've grown stale for some people already, given the sheer size and scope of them. I'm constantly encountering new areas, shortcuts and attack routes.

As long as the maps are free then that’s fine, the cosmetic nonsense doesn’t matter to me. I hate the loot box rage when it’s unnecessary.

Good, hopefully we get some of these new maps soon.

But the main issue is when it's in our field of vision, it just makes you think you f#&*ing scum, if and when I decided to pay for a aaa game it's so I can enjoy the game yet we get info boxes popping up telling us stuff that's linked to microtransactions stuff that's measures in the 10's of megabytes so you know it's a activation code. The only thing better these days in the gaming world is graphics and even then they manage to screw it up, games were better last generation and better yet the generation before that where games were games and not magnets for tools

I get that, it can be very... annoying to put it mildly. And I certainly agree with you gaming gets better as you go back. The Super Nintendo will always be my favorite generation by a huge margin

How about just fixing the crashing issue? I'd love to be able to play more than a few matches without having to reset my game (if I'm lucky) or my whole system (and worry it's going to brick it). Not only are we 10+ days from release, almost no communication has been forthcoming from IW. Customer service at its finest...

Honestly, its the notifications and the things that impact the hud of any active gameplay menu that sour the experience from me. I can feel the rage and thoroughly empathise. I'm still waiting to see what they do and then I'll see if I'll bite.
