Bluepoint Games' Cryptic Tweet Teases Possible Metal Gear Solid Remake and More

By Sean Carey,
While everyone was out trick or treating and celebrating the spookiest day of the year, Bluepoint Games posted a cryptic tweet that went mostly unnoticed. The strange tweet teases what we think could be a number of possible remakes or remasters. Bluepoint brought the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection to Xbox consoles, and this bizarre tweet could be suggesting something to do with another Metal Gear Solid game.

The tweet reads: "So calm this spooky night. A symphony of rumors - not one, but two - return from shadow. A resistance to dart home as black monsters escape twisted hills to wander lands and syphon souls. Filter your candy collections, soft from solid, and be eco-friendly. Have a metal Halloween."

Many are speculating that this tweet points to a number of possible games. Some think it could be remasters or remakes for Castlevania Symphony of the Night or possibly the PlayStation exclusives, Demon's Souls, Syphon Filter or Shadow of the Colossus.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was released on the original Xbox back in 2002 and was the only outing for Solid Snake on an Xbox console until Bluepoint was put in charge of the HD remaster which was then released on the Xbox 360 back in 2011. The HD collection now features in the Xbox Game Pass games list. Bluepoint also developed the port of Titanfall for the Xbox 360.

Bluepoint's president Marco Thrush spoke with Wired as part of its story about the upcoming PS5. Thrush said to Wired, "We're working on a big one right now. I'll let you figure out the rest." It's likely that the tweet mentioned above and that quote hints towards a release for the PS5, but the tweet does mention two rumours, so we are holding out hope that something could be coming to either Xbox One or maybe even Project Scarlett, but until we get something firm, all we can do is speculate.

Hey everyone! I'm Sean. I have been writing gaming content for various outlets over the past few years while studying a degree in Journalism. I grew up on everything PlayStation — mainly Metal Gear Solid, with a brief foray into the world of Xbox. Nowadays, you'll find me mainly playing multiplayer PC games, but with the recent addition of the Xbox Game Pass for PC, I'm looking forward to improving my TA Score.
