Everspace 2 Surpasses Kickstarter Funding Target

By Sean Carey,
The follow up to the popular space shooter Everspace has officially hit its funding goal over on Kickstarter. Everspace 2 achieved well over its €450,000 funding target with nearly 8000 backers pledging a total of €503,478.

The development team thanked everyone who donated in a blog post over on the Everspace website," In a gigantic joint effort over the last few days, we finally reached our funding goal, which is totally awesome because now we can make EVERSPACE 2 the way we always wanted to: together with you, our fans and without having to cut important features or content from our core vision. Thank you all so very much, indeed!"

The Kickstarter campaign also cleared its first Stretch Goal of €500,000 which promised to add a new location to the endgame of Everspace 2. Ancients' Rifts adds sudden cracks in space and strange anomalies where players can travel to other regions full of dangerous enemies.

Over on the Everspace 2 Kickstarter page, the game is described as "a fast-paced single-player space shooter with deep exploration, tons of loot, classic RPG elements. Set in a persistent open world, it is driven by a captivating sci-fi story, picking up shortly after the events of the predecessor. An approximately 20-hour-long campaign and various side missions will lead you into the endgame".

Everspace 2 is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 with a release for the PC version scheduled in Q3 2021 and a console release coming six months later.
