New Xbox Game Pass Game Lonely Mountains: Downhill has Four Unobtainable Achievements By Sam Quirke, 06 Nov 2019 FollowtopicsLonely Mountains: DownhillThunderful GamesID@XboxXbox Cloud GamingXbox Game PassCyclingSam Quirke The community are generally liking one of the most recent Xbox Game Pass additions, but for those hoping to be the first to complete the Lonely Mountains: Downhill achievement list we have some bad news: four of the achievements are currently unobtainable. Luckily it looks like a progression tracking issue, and therefore potentially a simple fix. While the bug hasn't been officially recognised by the developer as yet, Megagon Industries certainly have no intention of leaving the game unpatched — they've already released some patch notes on Steam that include some similar tweaks. Nevertheless, the following four achievements simply aren't obtainable right now, even though the conditions have been met in in-game menus:The Tree Hugger achievement in Lonely Mountains: Downhill worth 185 pointsHit trees 500 timesThe You Rock! achievement in Lonely Mountains: Downhill worth 183 pointsHit rocks 1000 timesThe Spikey Bikey! achievement in Lonely Mountains: Downhill worth 205 pointsHit cactuses 100 timesThe Maybe try a boat? achievement in Lonely Mountains: Downhill worth 116 pointsGo swimming 50 timesHopefully, as with similar bugs in other titles, the progression fix will simply re-read players' current progression and pop any achievement for which the requirements have already been met, rather than require players to meet the requirements once again. Whatever the case, we'll hopefully hear back from the developers soon. If you're not fussed about full and immediate completion, we still recommend you check this pretty downhill cycling game out – Sean certainly likes it, and it has a comfortable 3.4 / 5 rating from the community. Perhaps with a few tweaks it could one day end up in our best Xbox Game Pass games list.UPDATE: Community member OhMyGoth1 has been in touch with the developers on Discord, and confirms that while the issues hadn't been publically addressed at the time of writing, the developers are aware and working on a fix. Specifically it seems that the stats-based achievements were triggering more often than the platform allows — by dealing with that issue, the developers now have a cross-platform bug where the achievements don't get triggered on the platform side. So the problem certainly seems to be communications between the game and the achievement/trophy systems of the platform, rather than some internal bug in the game itself. Hopefully Xbox themselves can therefore help the team iron out the remaining issues.More Lonely Mountains: Downhill stories: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Contest: Win an Xbox Series X simply by unlocking achievements Vote now for May 2021's TA Playlist game Four More Games Land on Xbox Game Pass for PC Three More Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass Five New Games Announced for Xbox Game Pass for PC in October Xbox Game PassXbox One Written by Sam QuirkeSam has been a Newshound since 2016.
