Disney+ App Available Now on Xbox One

By Sean Carey,
The Disney+ app is available to download on Xbox One consoles in the US, Canada and the Netherlands now. The new streaming service gives you access to hundreds of Disney movies and TV shows, including all the Disney classics, Pixar movies and the likes of the Star Wars and The Avengers movies.

Disney+ has been on the cards for a while with Disney pulling all its content from other streaming services such as Netflix. One big selling point that Disney themselves haven't really hyped up is that every Star Wars movie — including the original trilogy — is available in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Another big Star Wars selling point is The Mandalorian, Disney's first live-action TV series for the franchise. Outside of animated TV shows like The Clone Wars and Rebels, Star Wars hasn't had a live-action series on TV and has usually been reserved for the big screen. The Mandalorian follows a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. Only the first episode is available now; however, it is receiving excellent review scores. Maybe this is worth checking out if you can't wait for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The service will cost $7 a month or $70 if you prepay for a full year, making Disney+ slightly cheaper than Netflix's cheapest tier which comes in at $9 a month.

Disney+ will be available across a vast number of platforms including Android, iOS, Roku, PlayStation and Samsung and LG smart TVs. Disney+ is expected to roll out in Australia and New Zealand on November 19, 2019, with the UK and Europe getting access to the service on March 31, 2020.
