The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Xbox One X console skin seems to have been created by Marketing Instincts, a jack-of-all-trades in the branded gear business. In particular Marketing Instincts owns the Controller Gear brand, which brought us the Purge Trooper custom Xbox controller and charging stand:

Controller Gear have partnered with Xbox for some time, producing a number of popular custom-skinned controllers, including the frosty Gears 5 Kait controller and stand, and the ghostly glow-in-the-dark Sea of Thieves controller.

It looks like the new console skin uses the same Purge Trooper aesthetic. Purge Troopers are sure to be some of the most daunting enemies available when Cal Kestis' journey starts later this week – they have been revealed in canon comics leading up to Fallen Order's launch as the final batch of clones from the experiment that led to Jango Fett becoming the prototype for the Empire's clone armies. Like those clone armies the Purge Troopers are compelled to obey Order 66, the nefarious switch that set the Jedis' armies on their masters. The Purge Troopers on Cal's trail apparently report to the Second Sister, a former Jedi turned to the dark side; ultimately, the hierarchy leads to Darth Vader himself.

We'll find out just how tricky these Purge Troopers can be – and whether they are worthy of adorning our Xbox consoles – when Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order arrives on Friday, November 15th. The console skin is listed at $29.99 in the US and $39.99 in Canada; it's not clear yet whether the skin will be available in other territories.
