XCloud Will Work With Sony's DualShock, Game Streaming for Xbox Game Pass Arriving in 2020

Xbox's mobile streaming concept XCloud has been circling around us for a while, with the first phase of the preview launching last month in Korea, the UK and the US. The next big reveal at tonight's X019 show was that fact that players will not only be able to use XCloud on a variety of screens, but that players would be able to use a variety of bluetooth controllers – including PlayStation's DualShock series.

Firstly, Kareem Choudhry, the Corporate VP of Project XCloud, wanted to announce that over 50 new games are being added into the Preview programme to expand the experience for both the players and the developers testing on the new service. Ken Moss, the Chief Technology Officer at EA, revealed that the mega publisher will be partnering with the XCloud program and that Madden NFL 20 is available from today on XCloud – it joins other new additions like Devil May Cry 5 and Tekken 7. A full list of XCloud titles is now available on the Project XCloud site.

Project XCloud is also coming to "PCs" at some point in 2020, though no further details or specific dates were given. The bigger news was the fact that third-party bluetooth controllers will work with XCloud – it's maybe less of a surprise that Razer game pads will have compatibility, but it was a shock to us and the listening audience at X019 that PlayStation's DualShock 4 would be compatible. Again, these features are coming at some point next year.

What else is coming in 2020? The XCloud teamannounced that Game Streaming will be coming to Xbox Game Pass at some point, and the programme is expanding into additional markets: Canada, India, Japan, and "Western Europe" will be able to sample the service in Preview at some point next year.

Have you gotten your hands on XCloud yet via the Preview programme? Are you excited to try it out? Will you be betraying your Xbox brethren and using a DualShock with your mobile in the future? Let us know in the comments!
