3v3 and 1v1 Coming to Modern Warfare By Heidi Nicholas, 02 Dec 2019 CommentsCall of Duty: Modern Warfare has been doing very well since it released. It's been in the top spot of our Gameplay Chart, the first to knock Fortnite down from no.1 in six months, and the only game to do it at all besides Apex Legends. It's had a few hiccups, like the famously overpowered 725 shotgun and the too-loud footsteps, but it's also soon to get the biggest free content drop in COD history, starting tomorrow with Season One. In the meantime, Co-Design Director of Multiplayer has tweeted in replies to fans to say that 3v3 and 1v1 Gunfight modes are on their way to the game:Cecot doesn't give a more specific timeframe other than "at some point", but does confirm that the 3v3 gunfight mode will be joined by 1v1. As yet, these two modes aren't listed in the rundown of Season One's content which we know of so far. There's going to be three new 2v2 gunfight maps: Cargo, Shipment and Atrium, but not yet a mention of either 3v3 or 1v1 Gunfight maps. However, Activision did say there'll be more multiplayer maps, modes, and Spec Ops content as Season One continues, so we could see them as part of that. Plus, Activision have promised a full reveal of Season One, and the 100 tiers of the Battle Pass, tomorrow on the 3rd December. A recent datamine claims to have uncovered all of the details on the Battle Pass, saying it's made up of 104 tiers overall, 81 of which are paid and 23 of which are free. Interestingly, the dataminer also claimed that Modern Warfare's Season One would start tomorrow, December 3rd at 10am PT, the same day as Activision's reveal. However, the information from this datamine hasn't been confirmed or denied in any way by Activision, so we'll have to wait until their reveal tomorrow to know for sure what Season One will bring. We'll keep you updated with all the information from Activision's reveal tomorrow. In the meantime, at least we have Cecot's word that we can expect to see 3v3 and 1v1 at some point in Modern Warfare's future.Check out our Best Xbox One First-Person Shooters Available in 2019 article for a compilation of other great games in this genre.Xbox One View comments Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
