A Resident Evil 3 remake has been rumoured for some time now, and to further add to that flame, some potential cover art for the American, European and Japanese releases has been found online on the PlayStation Store's database.

The game doesn't have a PlayStation Store page, but the art was found by gamstat, a website that tracks PlayStation stats and store updates. There are three different covers, two featuring Nemesis, Jill Valentine and presumably Carlos Oliveira. The other cover art features a lovely close up of Nemesis by himself.

Rumours have been swirling that the PS1 remake will be launching next year. No official word has been given but given the huge success of Resident Evil 2 back in January its hard to see Capcom not going forward with a remake for Resident Evil 3. The latest rumour is that the game will be announced at this year's The Game Awards.

We also have some cover art for Project Resistance found on the same site, with it featuring the same font as the logo on the Resident Evil 3 cover art. It looks like we have a final name for the game too, Resident Evil Resistance. Resident Evil Resistance is in the same vein as Left 4 Dead, with four survivors taking on the Mastermind who set traps, unleashes zombies and even a Tyrant.

It's possible that the two will launch together. The consistency of the design lends to that idea – maybe Resident Evil Resistance will be packaged in some way with Resident Evil 3 as a multiplayer off-shoot. However, it should be noted that all of this needs to be treated as a rumour. We have no official word from Capcom yet. Fingers crossed we will hear something at The Game Awards.
