Dragon Age Devs Tease a Possible Dragon Age 4 Hint

By Heidi Nicholas,
Fans have been hoping for some form of Dragon Age 4 news for a long time now, and given that today is literally Dragon 4ge day, it seemed a good time to hope for an announcement of one kind or another. Particularly since BioWare have been seizing every opportunity to tease this possibility. They have participated in Dragon 4ge day, and whilst their thank-you Tweet to the fans has been met with genuine emotion from Dragon Age players, it still was not perhaps exactly the news they were hoping for. Yet all hope is not lost, and the fan theories for Dragon Age 4 may yet be proven right. The Dragon Age community seems to be in agreement that Solas will be important in the fourth game, and that it is may be set in Tevinter Imperium. BioWare's tweet features, at the end, a clip from the scene from the Trespasser DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition where the Inquisitor stabs Tevinter on the map, right next to the location of Solas. This at least suggests a confirmation of the setting and theme for Dragon Age 4.

So, to get down to it: it's Solas's voice in last year's teaser for Dragon Age 4. Solas is an elven mage, often viewed as a god, who appeared as a companion in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's again generally agreed by the community that he's important to the overarching lore of the games, and probably a key figure in Dragon Age 4. Solas is otherwise known as the Dread Wolf, the name which featured in the teaser at the end as #TheDreadWolfRises. In it, he says, "so...you've found me at last. I suspect you have questions". This again echoes his words in the Trespasser DLC, and links in with the idea that you were searching for him to gain answers. BioWare seem to be encouraging this line of thinking. One of their (many) recent teasers was a tweet of a card from Solas. The tweet in general was celebrating the fifth birthday of Dragon Age: Inquisition, but Solas's card ended with the invitation: "Tea soon?" The tweet and card, and the fact that it comes from Solas, would basically seem to equate to an invitation from Solas to come back into the Dragon Age world, and to pick up where the story left off with regards to this particular character.

Just like Solas, the Tevinter Imperium has been lurking in the background of the Dragon Age world, as noted by PC Gamer. It's a nation ruled by mages, and, PC Gamer pointed out, is the subject of a collection of short stories based on Dragon Age, apparently coming out in March next year. The last story in the book is called "Dread Wolf Take You". The fact that this nation and its history has been looming in the background of many of the Dragon Age games, but without its own specific focus, would indicate that it's the perfect candidate for the setting of the next game.
