DayZ, DiRT Rally 2.0 and More Added to Project xCloud Preview

By Sean Carey,
A total of four new games have been added to Microsoft's cloud streaming service, Project xCloud. DayZ,DiRT Rally 2.0, War Thunder and Felix The Reaper have all made their way into the xCloud lineup.

All of these games (along with every other title currently in xCloud) are all free to play if you are a part of the Project xCloud preview. These four titles are the first new additions since X019 announced that over 50 games would be added to the service. These additions are games that were previously published in X019's marketing materials but were seemingly absent from the service.

We've been messing around with xCloud in the office, and for the most part, it's an enjoyable gaming experience. We have had some latency issues, especially with more-fast paced games such as Forza Horizon and Dead Island, plus we have a very good internet connection, so your mileage might vary even further. Overall, for something that is still in a beta stage, it's pretty impressive. Oh, and yes, you can unlock achievements in xCloud titles.

Project xCloud is still in its preview phase. Currently, the game streaming service is only available in the US, UK and South Korea. You will also need an Android device, as xCloud does not support iOS (at this time) and a Bluetooth Xbox controller. If you're interested in signing up for a chance to get into the preview, follow this link to the sign-up page. It's a bit of a mixed bag if and when you'll get into the preview. Some people are reporting signing up and getting into the preview after about two weeks, while others have been waiting for months.
