Pillars of Eternity Comes to Xbox Game Pass This Week, Along with The Witcher 3 By Sam Quirke, 17 Dec 2019 CommentsWhile confirming the date on which The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt drops into the list of Xbox Game Pass games, an Xbox Wire post has also revealed two more exciting additions. Life is Strange 2's final episode will drop into the Pass alongside The Witcher this Thursday, and they won't be alone: Obsidian's highly praised RPG Pillars of Eternity will be available as well.Pillars of Eternity is largely credited with saving Obsidian in its darkest days, one of the early big success stories in crowdfunding. It's a highly respected RPG in the classic mould, featuring a deep character creator and critically acclaimed writing. The console version contains all of the DLC released on PC, which means there are potentially many hundreds of hours of content to play for no additional cost when it hits Xbox Game Pass this Thursday. Sadly the sequel, Deadfire, never saw high sales and so the likelihood of a third Pillars of Eternity game is small. Perhaps Deadfire's long-delayed release on consoles this coming January will change the series' fortunes.Elsewhere, Life is Strange 2 wraps up on Xbox Game Pass with its fifth and final episode arriving on Thursday as well. The series has met wide critical acclaim for its portrayal of two brothers facing incredible adversity, both from all-too-real political tensions and an uncontrollable super-power.The Witcher 3, Life is Strange 2: Episode 5 and Pillars of Eternity all arrive on Xbox Game Pass for console on December 19th.Source: Xbox WireXbox Game PassXbox One Written by Sam QuirkeSam has been a Newshound since 2016 and is now the Editor for both TrueAchievements and TrueTrophies.
