Alan Wake has been quietly relisted on to the Microsoft Store

By Sean Carey,
The popular Xbox 360 title Alan Wake has been relisted on the Microsoft Store. We aren't sure when it appeared exactly, but looking at our store data, we believe the game reappeared for sale sometime in mid-December, possibly December 14.

September 7th

Alan Wake was delisted from the Microsoft Store back in May 2017 due to a number of expiring music licenses. Every track's license in the game expired, including songs that were specifically selected for the game's individual episode endings. At the time of the delisting, Remedy was looking into relicensing the music, now after nearly three years of Alan Wake only being available physically, it looks like Remedy has found a solution. Back in 2018, the game was relisted back on Steam, with Remedy thanking Microsoft for its help in renegotiating the rights to the music. We aren't exactly sure why its taken Remedy this long to relist Alan Wake on the Microsoft Store — the developer is yet to say anything official.

Alan Wake received two DLCs, which bumped the overall Gamerscore of the title up to 1500Gs. Both The Signal and The Writer launched in 2010 for $6.99 each. In 2016 they were made available for free; however, they have now gone back to their original $6.99 list price.

Alan Wake is a cult classic and currently sits at a 4.31/5 rating from the TA community, making it a contender for the TA Game of The Decade. The third-person action horror is also backwards compatible with Xbox One. If you fancy picking up a copy check out the link below where you can purchase Alan Wake for $19.99.

IN DARKNESS,FIGHT WITH LIGHT. From Remedy, the masters of cinematic action, comes a 3rd person action game filled with overwhelming odds and desperate near escapes. When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A dark presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love. With the body of an action game and the mind of a psychological thriller, Alan Wake is a pulse-pounding thrill ride.

We could be seeing some more Alan Wake related content in the upcoming AWE expansion for Control. It's believed that the two titles are connected or set in the same universe. The mysterious AWE expansion for Control is set to come out this year, and if you look closely at the Control Content Roadmap, you can see the top half of the AWE image features the Alan Wake box art.

Thanks to Judge for the news tip.
